Nasal Corticosteroid Sprays/Washes

Nasal corticosteroids are the kinds of steroids that patients spray in their nose for typical hay fever.  Things like fluticasone (Flonase) or mometasone (Nasonex) are examples.  One of the problems with AERD is that the sinuses are significantly affected.  This means that it is harder to get the steroid spray into the sinus cavity area.  Because of this, doctors will sometimes have patients use more sprays or mix the steroid into a rinse or nasal wash.  There are quite a few ways to accomplish this, but this type of treatment in general is one of the central components to treating AERD and nasal polyps specifically.
